The Griffin Vanes offer all the performance benefits of a Mylar vane (SpinWing) without any of the drawbacks!
The Bohning Griffin Vane's twisted-ribbon design supports instant arrow rotation and the minimal surface area resulting from the cut-out profile provides stable and accurate flight in variable, constant and windless weather scenarios.
With a weight of approximately only 1.2 grains/Bohning Griffin Vane, the Griffin Vane is made of extremely durable, robust and non-deforming wing material. This makes the Bohning Griffin Vane much more robust than a standard SpinWing and eliminates the need for frequent re-fletching.
The Griffin Vane has a straight base that can be fletched on the arrow shaft using a standard fletching jig with normal feather glue or adhesive tape.
In order not to damage the Bohning Griffin Vane when gluing it to the arrow shaft, two vane adapters are included with the Griffin Vanes included.
The Bohning Griffin Vane is 25.4mm long, 5.3mm high and weighs an average of only 77.8mg or approx. 1.2 grains. As with all Bohning Vanes, the processing of the Griffin Vanes is child's play and the hold on the arrow shaft is excellent.

Bohning spent three years researching and testing the development of the Griffin Vanes and when Bohning first decided to produce a Vanes for the Olympic recurve, Bohning had three goals in mind.
1. The Griffin Vane had to perform as well or better than a Mylar Vane (SpinWing)
2. The Griffin Vane had to be much more durable than a SpinWing
3. The Griffin Vane had to be easier to fletch.

Bohning engineers teamed up with an aerospace company to create a digital rendering and conduct computer-aided simulations.
The simulated results easily achieved all three objectives.
The next step was to produce prototypes of the Griffin Vane - since it is not a typical vane shape, production had to be set up from scratch for this.
The Tests of the Bohning Griffin Vane involved over 100 first-class shooters in order to further optimize the choice of material for the Griffin Vanes.
The result is the extremely powerful, robust and globally patented Bohning Griffin Vane.
